Feeling Good (Official Video)

Award-winning jazz recording artist Nicole Henry delivers expressive, powerhouse vocals on her new, uplifting single “FEELING GOOD.” This cover version of the Anthony Newly tune, made popular by Nina Simone and Michael Bublé, is completely rejuvenated with an Afro-Cuban vibe and punchy horn arrangements in the solo section and outro. And as Henry discovers the lyric verse by verse, she and the music arrive upon a newfound sense of freedom that is at once awesome, palpable, and contagious. FEELING GOOD becomes nothing less than a celebration. Ms. Henry states, “When I first considered singing the song, I was drawn to the lyrics that revolve entirely around nature and the inherent freedom found within the various forms of nature. I wanted it to be earthy and somewhat tribal. I took this idea to my bassist Eric England and asked him to create an arrangement based on what I sang, clapped it out, and hilariously beat-boxed to him over the phone.”  Henry went on to record this single in Miami with 12 talented musicians, some of whom she’s collaborated for over 15 years
